NCL Pearl Cruise Day 2

September 23, 2023

We just boarded yesterday and everything has been going great. Today is a sea day. I love sea days, especially when it’s the day after boarding, to give everyone a chance to settle in, adjust to time difference (although there’s no time difference to adjust for this cruise for us), and learn your way around the ship. We had breakfast at Moderno, our dedicated sit-down breakfast restaurant choice for Suite guests, and then we went on the Behind the Scenes tour. This tour is free to us as a Platinum Latitudes rewards member. We reached Platinum on our last cruise with Norwegian Epic. We took a Behind the Scenes tour on that one as well. These tours mostly focus on the kitchen galley area and laundry area. We have never toured the bridge. I enjoy these tours because it’s nice to see what goes on behind the scenes and it always impresses me.

After the tour was over, it was time for our next freebie, the wine around the world tasting. This doesn’t have a whole lot of value to us because we have the Premium Plus drink package, which included all of the wines we tasted anyway, but it’s got an educational component and it was nice to taste a small sample of each wine to see which one we liked best.

After lunch at Moderno, we walked around the ship and collected the daily freebies from Jewelry stores. We requested from our butler daily deliveries of chocolate dipped strawberries and fresh fruits. They were in our room waiting for us.

Tonight’s dinner was at La Cucina, the Italian specialty restaurant.

Dinner was amazing like always. Tonight’s entertainment is called Pure Variety. It’s a combination of music performances from the hits of Billy Joel to ABBA. I love these shows because the performers are always so talented.

Every cruise we have taken has been nothing short of amazing to me. Thinking about the days ahead, I’m so happy and excited. I will never understand the people who don’t want to cruise. To me, there’s just nothing better.
